Writing
In this inaugural video for my Writing tutorial series, I wanted to take a few minutes to talk about hard reality. Before setting out on the Writer’s Journey you need to resolve two things. First, what is your ultimate goal and at what level of achievement will you find satisfaction? Second, how much time should you devote to your writing and how can you form a sustainable writing habit? By seriously considering these questions, you will be prepared for a lifetime of writing.
You’ve got an idea for a story, or at least the seed of one, but you aren’t sure how to turn that vision into reality. One of the most tried and true methods of storytelling is through the use of the Three Act Structure. In this video, we will cover the key elements of this structure and why they are so important along with several examples of them in use.
This is one of two videos released today on this topic. The second video provides a hands-on practical example of how to use the Three Act structure to develop the plot to a story.
You’ve got a great idea for a story but you aren’t sure how to start. Or maybe you can get started but the tale always seems to fall apart. Or perhaps you’re a “Pantser” but you struggle because your writing always ends up losing its way. In this video, I provide a hands-on example of how to create the basic structure for your novel using the Three Act Structure as a foundation. The goal here is to give you the tools and the confidence to do the same yourself.
This is the second of two videos released today on the Three Act Structure. The first video is a shorter discussion on the theory behind the structure along with several examples of it in use.
